Animal Medicine Oxytetracycline Injection 

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIONS

Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum,long-acting antibiotics.

It has significant inhibitory effect on both Gram-positive bacteria such as pneumococcus, streptococcus, staphylococcus, Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium tetani, Corynebacterium etc. and Gram-negative bacteria like Escherichia coli, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Brucella, Haemophilus, Klebsiella, Loefflerella mallei etc..

It can also effectively inhibit mycoplasma, Chlamydia, rickettsia and spirochetes.

INDICATION

It is a long-acting compound preparation for the respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract infections.

It can prevent and cure respiratory disease such as asthma, contagious pleuropneumonia, bronchitis, rhinitis, Eperythrozoonsis, Streptococcus disease, toxoplasmosis caused by single infection, mixed infection and secondary infection, enteritis, septicemia, metritis, mastitis, foot rot, sinusitis, Eperythrozoon, asthma, Brucellosis, abscess, salmonellosis and mixed infections caused by bacterial and viral.

ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE

Hypodermic Injection, each time:

- Horses and cattle: 2~5 mL/200Kg body weight;

- Sheep and goats: 1mL/40Kg body weight;

- Lambs: 0.5~1mL/20Kg body weight;

- Poultry: 0.25-0.5mL per hen.

2-3 times per day, with accordance to the symptoms for 2~3 consecutive days

PRECAUTIONS

- For veterinary use only;

- It is suggested that if the dose is larger than normal, inject at separate spots. 

- Oxytetracycline.5% is not intended for cats or dogs;

- It must not be given to animals in late pregnancy, animals with severe bad liver or kidney and to animals oversensitive to oxytetracycline;

- Keep out the reach of children.

 

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

- Animals must not be treated within 28 days of slaughter for human consumption;

- Animals must not be treated within 7 days of producing milk for human consumption.
